Shannon Steimel is Library Media Specialist at Lift for Life Academy, a public, nonprofit charter school in St. Louis. She believes librarians play a key role in ed tech leadership and serves as the Academy’s Technology Committee Chair and Future Ready Project Manager. Her work earned her the 2016 LFLA Operations Service Award for exceptional work in support services, education program effectiveness, collaboration and innovation. She was a 2017 Midwest Education Technology Conference Spotlight Educator. Along with providing professional development for her district, she often presents locally, regionally and at worldwide virtual conferences such as Library 2.0. Shannon is also a board member of the Educational Technology Association of St. Louis. She has previously reviewed professional books and web tools for Talking Points, an NCTE (National Council of Teachers of English) publication.
