Did you hear about the rose that grew from a crack in the concrete? Written by Tupac Shakur, The Rose That Grew from Concrete was not only a poetic novel it was also inspiring. Tupac giving his insight on society, love, life, poverty and hardship. The story is not only dynamic, but it’s also relatable. Being that I’ve read it twice, I would recommend the story to everyone I know. The story reminds me of every Tupac Shakur song I’ve ever heard, if you enjoy his music you’d enjoy the book. They are related through his truthful words of wisdom and strong opinionated background. The book stands out from others mainly because it’s relatable on a home level, him speaking on his trials through life that you may have had or felt yourself. The book isn’t long at all, it’s nothing but poems with whom they are dedicated to. If asked to rate the story I would give it 5 five out of 5 stars, you should read this book if you enjoy music, urban fictions, or poetry.
