Extraordinary by Miram Spitzer Franklin

23130145This book will make you laugh and cry at the adventures in this book. In this book a young girl has an illness and her best friend does everything she can to help her, since she can’t speak or walk, she is doing everything she can to help her including counting down until her surgery day. This book reminds me of ”Thirteen Reasons Why”,because one friend cares for the other friend so much that they fight for that friend until the end. The thing that makes this book unique is that the girls friend does everything for her and goes out of her way until the day of her surgery. At first it was a little sad, but then started to be understanding and excited. I would give this book a 4.5 out of five stars. You should read this book if you like books with fantastic best friends and who love each other no matter the challenges they go throw.

The Scholastic “Book of Lists” has fun facts, weird trivia, and amazing lists on nearly everything you need to know. This book has hundreds of topics to look at from sports to pop culture. More topics are world history and math. This book reminds me of a “Book of World Records” because it has things that you can try and actually succeed at. This book stands out because it gives you info about things you don’t know about. My advice to the readers is once you read about a topic, research it and learn more about it. Copper Sun by Sharon Draper

cooper sun book coverRecommended by Victoria W.

Have you ever been in a very bad situation and always somehow see only the good in it?
“Copper Sun” is about how a little girl named Ameri’s home in Africa was invaded by what they call “strangers,” but they are just Cartesian people. Anyway they basically killed her whole family and her entire village. Only she and a handfull of people survived. From that day on Ameri’s life was filled with rainy days, tears, and fear. There were some days that were filled with joy.  No matter how bad everything got she remembered what her mother told her and saw the good in everything and everyone.
This book reminds me of one of my close friends because whenever something got bad she always saw the bright side of the situation.
This book is unique because its very interesting to read; it catches your attention all the way through and makes you want to read more and more.
I don’t have any advice just read the book because I know you’ll love it was much as i did.
I would give this book a 10.

We Beat The Street By Drs.Sampson Davis,George Jenkins,Rameck Hunt

we beat the streetRecommended by Tavian C.

We Beat The Street is a quote from three doctors who were trying to fulfill  their dreams. This book is about three doctors living in the ghetto trying to fulfill their dreams and the make it. This book reminds me of Boyz ‘N’ The Hood & Mental 2 Society because it’s about surviving in the streets. The men’s account of their childhood, their families and the street life that threatened to swallow them up. This is unique because I can relate to them. My advice is be smart but play dumb in the street life.

Scholastic 2014 Book of World Records by Jenifer Morse

2014 book of world recordsRecommended by Jermaine L.

“More than 300 amazing records!” The 2014 Book of World Records has more than 300 records! Some freaky, some gross, but all amazing! It has sports records, music records, and even includes U.S state records! I mean it has records for every single state. I guess this book compares to an almanac because it provides important information that could be useful. The thing that stands out the most is the amount of records. You have got to be a master to find out who holds the bestselling smartphone! Some advice to whoever reads this book is to do a little research about some records. Find out more interesting things behind them. I would give this book 5 out of 5 stars. If you like everything fun and exciting, you’ll like the 2014 Scholastic Book of World Records.
