SteelHeart by Brandon Sanderson

20342545Would you want to kill superheroes? A boy named David Charlestone wants revenge on Steelheart. David is looking to get help from a group called The Reckoners. They are a shadowy group of rebels bent on maintaining justice. The Reckoners might even need Davids help to. This book is unique in the way that it presents the conflict of the story. Some ways to deal with them with by presenting weaknesses. It has some slow parts and can be very intriguing stay with the book. My rating for this book would be a 4/5 stars.

First love” We thought our journey would never end, but then it did” Always will be best friends, and first loves forever despite the situation. The two set out on a journey of a lifetime between robbery, love, honesty, and illness, with unfolding truths and pain. The Fault in our Stars and My sister’s Keeper reminds me of this novel with the challenges of cancer. This keeps you wanting more, and more. Never knowing what’s going to happen next, it touches your heart, teaching you that you only live once. To take advantage of what you have while you got it. GG left her apartment to set her adventure. It was getting good leaving me on edge to what she would experience. I would give this book 5 out of 5 stars. like you Can a young widow fall in love with her husband’s reflection? The hidden part in the question is ” Is it ever wrong to someone”. Growing up as identical twins, Stephen and Sam Ames has big plans for their lives, sharing everything. But, the painful aftermath  of their parents divorce and reality of the war in Afghanistan set them on separate paths changing their relationship. As Stephen begins to make peace with his brother he discovers one more thing they share. This reminds me of the movie Letters to Juliet, the army brought separation, but fate and faith brought love. Somebody Like You is a novel that will keep you turning pages well into the night, it will challenge, inspire, and encourage you, leaving you wanting more. I sure couldn’t stop reading even though I had school the next day. ” Somebody Like You” starts off with the life of a pregnant widow, but when the twin brother shows up the story really took off. I would give this book a 5 out of 5 stars. You should read this book if you like to read about love, hope, and new beginnings most definitely read this novel.

Someone to Love Me by Anne E. Schraff

someone to love meHow much would take for the boy you love? Cindy did it all, she even took all the bruises, and arguments Bobby gave her, until the unthinkable happened. It’s about a girl name Cindy who is not only worried her mom’s new boyfriend, but about her boyfriends change in behavior.  ” Someone to love me” reminds me of “Hustlin” because they both have teen drama, dealing with abusive boyfriends, and young love. This book is so unique because it describes a very powerful teen message while still making  the book interesting, and realistic. In” Someone to Love Me” the author waits to the close ending of the book to deliver the message, but it keeps you reading.  I would give this book 5 out 5 stars. You should read this book if you like urban fiction books.

Small-Town Brides by Janet Tronstad

small town brides book coverRecommended by Katie P.

How would you feel if the person you loved rejected your proposal and ran to get away from you and everything? Well, in “Small-Town Brides,” when her neighbor proposes a “practical” marriage, romantic Rene Mitchell throws the ring in his face. Fleeing Texas for Montana, Rene rides with trucker Clay Preston. Clay doesn’t believe in romance….until Rene changes his mind.

This book reminds me of “A Mule Hollow Match” by Debra Clopton because it’s about two women, romance, and broken hearts, but one woman’s cousin thinks that the guy who broke his cousin’s heart deserves whatever happens to him. The thing that makes “Small-Town Brides” stand out is that she felt like she couldn’t get married so she walked away. I thought the book started out a little confusing but after you’re into it, you never want to put the book down until you’re finished with it completely. I would give “Small-Town Brides” a 4 out of 5 stars. You should read this book if you like reading about a woman who leaves the man wholoves her for the road and a guy she met on the road.

“You don’t get to choose if you get hurt in this world..but you do have some say in who hurts you. I like my choices.- Oh I wouldn’t mind Hazel Grace. It would be a privilege to have my heart broken by you.”

The Fault in Our Stars is an amazing book. It tells the love story of two teenage kids, Hazel Grace and Augustus Waters, who’ve both had run-ins with cancer. It’s so hard to put the book down. The story is so heart touching you feel as if you were one of the characters. After reading this book you will truly feel different and look at certain things in life totally differently. The Fault in Our Stars reminds me of My Sister’s Keeper because both books tell the story of a strong relationship between two teens and someone has cancer. The Fault in Our Stars stands out because, although the teens deal with such huge problems, they can still make you smile and laugh. Everything about this book just pulls you in. You will love this book from the first page to the last page. It will leave you wanting more. You’ll want to know life after. I would give this book 5 out of 5 stars, the most perfect book to ever be written. You should read it if you’re a hopeless romantic like myself. You’ll fall in love with this love story.

Love Walked In by Marisa De Los Santos

Love Walked In is the kind of book that makes you want to hunker down on a chilly day in a comfy chair and read straight through til’ dark. You will want to pass it on and on with the words, “You have to read it!” This is a poignant, heart-tugging story about a single woman, a little girl, who developed an unlikely bond, the secrecy of a love reaction, a grown-up fairy tale about old movies, charming princes, and finding happily ever after in the place where you’d least expect it. Love Walked In reminds me of one of the movies on Lifetime with the actions that took place which is very interesting and shocking. The interesting thing about Love Walked In is how the author gave you examples with old movies that gave you a picture in your mind to get the full effect. It started off with a powerful statement in the beginning that had me hooked, and that was when she said her real life started when a man walked into it. I would give this book 5 out of 5 stars. You should read this book if you like old movies, shocking relationship end-ups and a strong word like love.
